The head of a coalition of pastors in the Lone Star State says a transgender pastor is “reversing reality” by claiming that God is transgender.

The Texas Privacy Act (Senate Bill 6), legislation currently before that state’s legislators, would require individuals to use restrooms and locker rooms in government and public school buildings that correspond with the gender on their birth certificate. During a recent hearing on the measure, a female minister who claims to be male and goes by the name of “Seth Wynn” opposed the bill, declaring that “God is transgender.”

“In the beginning, God created humankind in God’s image. God created them male and female – so God is transgender,” said the pastor of Agape Metropolitan Community Church in Fort Worth.

### “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

– 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (ESV)

Dave Welch, executive director of the [Texas Pastor Council](https://www.facebook.com/texaspastorcouncil), attended that hearing. “Really what we’re seeing is a visualization, if you will, of Romans 1 in the caricature of a reprobate, depraved mind where they literally are reversing reality,” he tells OneNewsNow.

Wynn also stated in that hearing that those who disagree with transgenderism are filled with hate and are creating a God in their own image. Welch responds:

“When we approach things from a scriptural viewpoint in issues like this, it is out of compassion and love for those who are caught and trapped in a condition that’s going to destroy them,” he offers. “And so they react to it in the same way darkness reacts to light – [in their mind] any opposition to it is an attack on them ….”

Welch says people like Wynn are “rejecting scripture entirely” and “creating their own narrative to fit their particular beliefs and agenda.”

Senate Bill 6 passed out of committee last week and has been passed to the full Texas Senate.
